最后的K8:Athlon 64 X2 6400+实测

面对来势汹汹的Intel Core 2 Duo,AMD K10 Phenom迟迟无法上市,只能依靠K8 Athlon 64 X2苦苦支撑。为保住形势,AMD将在本月20日推出新款Athlon 64 X2 6400+,主频提升至3.2GHz,预计售价220-240美元,定位于Core 2 Duo E6750和E6850之间。

规格方面,Athlon 64 X2 6400+仅仅是主频提高了200MHz,倍频也达到了16x,事实上该型号依然基于90nm Windsor核心,Socket AM2接口,2MB二级缓存,热设计功耗125W,德国德累斯顿Fab 30工厂出品。

值得注意的是,由于目前很多主板都没有预留16x倍频,因此在使用X2 6400+的时候需要刷新BIOS。

这款末代高端产品能否完成自己的使命?以下是来自香港HKEPC的实际测试。

测试平台如下:

处理器:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 (3.00GHz/4MB L2/1333MHz FSB)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66GHz/4MB L2/1333MHz FSB)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (3.2GHz/1MB L2 x 2/1GHz HT)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (3.0GHz/1MB L2 x 2/1GHz HT)
散热器:
Gigabyte 3DRocket II AM2/775

与前辈X2 6000+相比,X2 6400+虽然只是提高了200MHz主频,但带来的全面性能提升是显而易见的,尤其是X2 6400+可以让内存完整地运行在DDR2-800规格,而不是“降级”到DDR2-750(CPU/8×2),因此内存相关性能测试成绩提升非常明显,比如SiSoftware Sandra 2007内存带宽都提升了26%以上。

溫度/功耗測試︰

但对比E6750($183)和E6850($266),X2 6400+就没有什么优势了。与E6750相比可以说互有胜负、大成平手,但在E6850面前,除了传统强项Science Mark和SiSoftware Sandra内存带宽,X2 6400+全面落败。不过,如果X2 6400+能降价到183美元之下,则在性价比上还有机会挑战对手。

除了性能,X2 6400+的功耗表现也不容乐观。由于采用了落后的90nm工艺,TDP高达125W,因此在65nm、65W的E6850面前,X2 6400+的差距很明显。


综合看来,AMD要想凭借继续挖掘K8潜力来对抗Intel Core 2 Duo已经不太可能,唯有专心K10 Phenom,早日拿出新品,毕竟,Intel的45nm Penryn也不远了。
