Windows 8中将新增一个应用程序商店（App Store）的消息已经出现了近一年了，但是微软从未正面回应过，随着9月BUILD大会的临近，微软终于松口，首次公开证实，Windows 8将内置App Store，微软Windows部门的App Store开发小组负责该功能的开发。

虽然这并非什么爆炸性新闻，但是对于关心Windows 8的开发人员和用户，这无疑是一个好消息。Windows部门总裁Steven Sinofsky在官方博客中列出了Windows 8的多个开发小组名称，从其名称中我们也能进一步确定很多Windows 8的功能，列表如下：
